Tetra is our next-generation analog poly synth. Tetra takes the award-winning sound and features of Mopho, multiplies them by four, and packs them in a box less than half an inch larger!

Tetra has multiple personalities. It is a four-voice, analog poly synth, a sort of “mini Prophet.” It's a four-part, multitimbral synth with separate outputs, essentially four Mophos in one very compact box. And it’s a voice expander for other Tetras or the Prophet ’08.

Outside the Box
Physically, Tetra is similar to Mopho, with four assignable parameter controls per program and a row of controls dedicated to the most commonly used performance parameters. All of the parameters can be accessed from the front panel and Tetra is fully programmable. A free, downloadable editor is available for Mac OS and Windows to facilitate more comprehensive tweaking.

Most of the rotary controls are detented encoders, but Cutoff and Resonance are potentiometers, allowing full sweeps with a single turn. The Push It button is a manual trigger to play notes and latch sequences on without the need for a MIDI controller.

Audio is output in mono, stereo, or per voice, via the four audio output jacks. There is also a headphone out. MIDI communication is by standard MIDI in and out jacks or USB. Poly Chain Out is a special, dedicated MIDI output to chain multiple instruments for increased polyphony.

Under the Hood
The voice architecture is based on the Prophet '08, but with the addition of a sub-octave generator for each oscillator and a fully programmable feedback loop for each voice. That breaks down to two DCOs, a resonant low-pass filter, three DADSR envelope generators, four LFOS, deep modulation routing, an arpeggiator, and a 16 x 4 analog-style step sequencer per voice. Feedback is capable of producing effects ranging from mild distortion to fairly extreme harmonic instability. (That's a good thing.) The possibilities are nearly endless. And the audio signal path is 100% analog.

Tetra a la Mode
In Program Mode, Tetra is a four-voice, polyphonic synthesizer with four banks of 128 programs. As with the Prophet '08, each program contains two layers—each layer is essentially a separate patch—that can be used to create keyboard splits or stacked sounds. Banks 1 and 2 are the Prophet '08 factory programs; banks 3 and 4 are a combination of Mopho and new programs.

In Combo Mode, a different program can be assigned to each of the four voices. Combos can be used for mammoth unison patches or for triggering up to four different 16 x 4 sequences—each with its own program—simultaneously. Combos can also be used to create "modular-style" polyphonic patches, where each voice plays a different program, with a slight variation on the same sound or even a drastically different sound.

In Multi Mode, Tetra becomes a multitimbral sound module capable of playing four monophonic parts on four MIDI channels, with separate outputs for each voice. Coupled with a MIDI sequencer and DAW, Tetra can play complex arrangements or analog drum parts with each part individually processed and recorded to its own track.

This One Goes to 12...and 16
Up to four Tetras can be poly chained for eight, twelve, or sixteen voices total. When used with a Prophet '08, up to two Tetras can be poly chained for a maximum of sixteen voices. In addition, the Prophet's front panel controls map directly to almost all of Tetra's parameters, so the Prophet acts as a programmer and control surface. And a Mopho can be connected to Tetra's Poly Chain Out for five-voice operation.

Overview

Mopho is a compact and affordable—but powerful—monophonic analog synthesizer. The voice architecture is identical to a single voice of the Prophet '08, but with a couple of unique twists to distinguish it from its award-winning sibling. We have added two sub-octave generators—one per oscillator—for additional girth and crushing basses. It also has an audio input that lets you process external audio and mix Mopho's own audio output back in pre-filter for feedback effects that can range from subtle distortion to extreme skronk. The Push It button is a manual trigger that lets you play a specific note or latch notes and sequences on. It can also step through a sequence to play short melodic lines without a keyboard. Of course, Mopho can also be used with a MIDI controller or external sequencer.

Mopho is fully programmable and all the parameters can be tweaked from the front panel. The four Assignable Parameters controls are assignable per program for optimum performance control. A free editor is available for Mac OS and Windows to facilitate programming. (And, if you already have a Prophet '08, most of Mopho's parameters can be controlled from the Prophet's front panel via MIDI!)

Mopho is perfect for people who want to learn the ins and outs of real analog synthesis without spending a bundle, DJs looking to add some old school sonic spice to their setups, and musicians who will appreciate a great-sounding, very portable mono synth.

  • Affordable, fully programmable mono synth with a 100% analog signal path.
  • Classic, real analog sound—including legendary Curtis analog low-pass filter.
  • Process external audio through the filter and envelopes.
  • Just 7.5" x 5" (19.05 cm x 12.7 cm).
  • Free editor for Mac OS and Windows.

It's the Voyager with all the sonic quality one would expect plus a finish that rivals its sound.

Played by the likes of Jesse Carmichael of Maroon5 and Printz Board of the Black Eyed Peas. The Electric Blue Voyager is housed in a fractal blue solid ash cabinet. At first it looks black but as one draws near the fractal blue flecks pop out in an eye catching display. Combine this with the stunning look of the electric blue back lit panel, new blue LED's, and some new killer patches and you have an instrument you will be proud to play for a lifetime.

Now, all Electric Blues will have the upgraded software and hardware to allow the player 7 banks of 128 presets and the following capabilities:

The External Mixer knob (just right of the display panel) has a dual function that allows you to rapidly change presets as opposed to continuously punching the cursor buttons.

Other Enhancements:

- Allows you to send either 7 or 14 bit resolution from the Mod Wheel.

- Optionally reduces the amount of MIDI data being sent from the Touch Surface.

(These changes enable the Voyager to work better with older MIDI equipment.)

-Transpose the entire keyboard by 2 octaves up or down.

ENJOY!

The LFOs, step sequencer, and three separate delays can all be synced for massive,

rhythmic, time-based effects in stereo.

Features

  • Monstrous four oscillator voice architecture.
  • True stereo signal path with separate Curtis analog low-pass filters in each channel.
  • Dedicated onboard effects (feedback, delay, distortion, high-pass filter, etc.).
  • 16 x 4 step sequencer really brings the Evolver to life with evolving “pseudo-polyphonic” sounds – you won’t believe it's mono!
  • Stereo audio input for audio processing of external stereo or mono signals, enabling the synth to act as a unique stereo effects processor.
  • Everything (sequencer, LFOs, and delay) syncs perfectly to MIDI.
  • Easy-to-navigate matrix-style interface for quick editing and real-time control of 8 parameters simultaneously.

The Poly Evolver Keyboard is DSI's flagship synthesizer, a nearly-knob-per-function knockout that sounds unlike any other synth out there—except another Evolver, of course! Don't like a high-end hardware synth that requires wading through endless menus to program? Not an issue with the Poly Evolver's 78 knobs—60 of them potentiometers—and 58 buttons, incuding a keypad for direct access of programs.

An analog/digital hybrid, the four-voice Poly Evolver features four oscillators per voice—two analog and two digital—in a unique stereo voice architecture with a real Curtis analog low-pass filter per channel. The digital processing does not simply add effects at the end of the signal chain, but is tightly integrated with the analog electronics for tuned feedback, distortion, bit crushing, and synced delays. It can also process external audio and has separate stereo outputs for each voice.

The Poly Evolver is capable of producing sounds ranging from classic analog to more brash and edgy digital sounds. It is also multitimbral, with the ability to play up to four parts simultaneously through separate stereo outputs. And it can process external audio.

The Poly Evolver is not a generic "slab" workstation. If you're looking for realistic pianos and strings, keep looking. But if you want a truly unique, inspirational, real instrument, look no further.

  • Each voice is a complete Evolver with four oscillators per voice, two analog and two digital.
  • True stereo signal path with separate Curtis analog low-pass filters in each channel for each voice. Each voice has its own independent effects (feedback, delay, distortion, high-pass filter, etc.).
  • Highly accessible sound control for easy, intuitive operation: 78 knobs and 58 switches.
  • Clocked, pulsing blue LEDs and hardwood end-panels.
  • Each voice has an independent 16 x 4 step sequencer. Everything (sequencer, LFOs, and delay) syncs perfectly to MIDI.
  • In Program mode, all four voices play the same sound. In Combo mode, voices can be allocated however desired: stack all 4 for a huge unison sound, split or layer the keyboard in any configuration, and/or play one or all sequences at the same time. Each voice can respond to a different MIDI channel.
  • Each voice has its own stereo output in addition to the mix and headphones outputs.
  • Stereo audio input that can be routed to any or all of the voices, enabling parallel audio processing of external stereo or mono signals. The output of one voice can be routed to the input of another for interesting double-processing effects.

Specifications

  • 5-octave, semi-weighted keyboard action with velocity and aftertouch.

When lightweight and portability is as important as sound quality and flexibility, Nord Keyboards presents the Nord Piano 88.

The Nord Piano is delivered with the Nord Piano DVD that contains the entire v5 of the Nord Piano Library. Currently (May, 2010) this DVD contains 56 sounds, with a total size of 1.8 gigabyte.

At Nord we do things differently

The Nord Piano 88 is a professional stage piano with 88 keys, designed with the performing musician in mind without compromising quality or means of expression.

The Nord Piano comes loaded from the factory with 19 different piano and harpsichord sounds. The program memory is filled with 120 programs that showcase the possibilities you have with the selection of pianos and the Nord Piano effects.

Click here for a view of the Nord Sound Manager window with the Nord Piano factory setup. Additional sounds are available for free on the included DVD or in the V5 Piano Library area on this website.

Acoustic, electric, vintage or contemporary piano sounds - it's all here. And with unique features like String Resonance, totally replaceable sounds from the extensive Nord Piano Library and the dynamic Nord Piano Pedal, the Nord Piano delivers in every aspect.

Character is everything

It's about time to stop playing the same lifeless and generic piano sounds that sits in your instrument for ever and ever! Every acoustic and electric piano has its own personality and so do the sounds in the Nord Piano.

Personal Choice

Not only can you effortlessly change the sounds and dial in the desired effect settings on the panel, the Nord Piano is the world's first stage piano that allows you to completely replace the piano sounds in the instrument.

When your needs, or your mood changes, just download another piano from the large selection of unique sounds in the Nord Piano Library.

Exchanging the piano sounds inside your Nord Piano is easy. Connect the piano to your computer using the built-in USB-interface and your choice of sound is simply a matter of preferred style.

Perhaps the acoustic Grand Lady would suit your taste this morning? Or maybe one of the smaller, more intimate acoustic upright pianos is a better choice? Why not fit a vintage Sparkletop electric piano too, and you'll be ready for the jazz gig later tonight.

String Resonance

String Resonance is the acoustic phenomenon that occurs inside an acoustic piano or a grand piano when strings, or parts of strings, resonate at their fundamental or harmonic frequencies when other strings are played.

When this functionality is turned on using the Nord Piano's acoustic pianos, all notes you play will affect each other to reproduce the wonderful acoustics that occurs inside an acoustic grand or upright piano.

String Resonance is also very noticeable if you use the sustain pedal with the String Resonance feature enabled. The notes that you play will have a beautiful sound quality to them, when all the un-dampened strings resonate as you play sustained notes.

Another thing that the String Resonance produces is a crescendo effect. If you play the same key repeatedly with the same force, the sound will change over time. This is originally caused by the hammers hitting the vibrating string in various phases, and creates a nice, gentle fluctuation in volume and timbre in the Nord Piano.

For rock and pop music, when sometimes a more dry and direct sound is desired, simply turn off the String Resonance. Sometimes less is more

Easy to access programs

There are 120 programs in the Nord Piano. These are accessed by 24 banks with 5 programs each, with convenient program buttons located right on the panel where you need them during your performance. You edit the programs by just changing the parameters on the panel, and all the changes you make can be stored in any program location by using the Store button.

There is also a Live Mode with 5 separate locations, where every setting you change are automatically stored. This is a great feature during rehearsals when you are getting the set list ready, or as a sketchpad for those great programs, that are still to come.

Every program can be given a name; you enter the name from the Nord Piano panel or by using the Nord Sound Manager. Along with the program name, the piano model used will also be displayed in the LCD. Parameter values and menu settings will be shown when applicable.

Transpose and Kbd Touch

With the Transpose feature, you can set a transposition value between -6 and +6 semitones, directly from the panel. This setting will be saved in the programs if you want to make this an integrated part of your parameter selection. There is also global transpose setting in the system menu that can be combined with the panel transpose.

The Kbd Touch feature enables you to alter the response from the keyboard. There are four curves available. These make it progressively easier for you to reach the maximum velocity from the Nord Piano keyboard. This can make a huge difference when you want that special touch on an electric piano, or if you hit a bad patch of wrist fatigue during an intense show.

All of the acoustic pianos in the Nord Piano Library are stereo pianos. If you use a mono amplifier or sound system, sometimes it is preferable to playback the sounds in mono. This can be achieved by using the Mono feature that is directly accessed from the panel.

Nord Piano pedal top

Nord Piano Pedal

The included Piano Pedal offers an unprecedented functionality, with the addition of a dynamic control of the mechanical noise during operation, and the ability for you as a player to use half-pedalling and ''release and catch'' techniques.

The right pedal is the sustain pedal. When the sustain pedal is operated on an acoustic grand or upright piano, many different sounds are produced by the mechanical components, several of the sounds can be reproduced by the Nord Piano.

When the dampers are lifted from the strings when the sustain pedal is pressed down, a beautiful sizzle can be heard. When you remove the foot from the pedal, the dampers are returned on to the strings, which creates a different, muted type of sound.

Since the pedal is dynamic, you can experiment with various forces in pressing, and also in releasing the pedal. If you just slip your foot of the sustain pedal, allowing the return spring to spring with full force, a noticeable sound will appear.

The ''floor sound'' is heard when the pedal reaches the bottom of its travel. You can expereince this in isolation if you press down the pedal completely, then lift it less than halfway back up and then press down again.

If you lift the pedal and immediately press it down again, a very rich sound will be heard. Another big sound is 'The Stomp', which requires you to start with your foot above the actual pedal, in order to be able to reach the high velocity that is required to get this sound.

The left pedal is the soft pedal, also known as the Una Corda. When you press this pedal, all the notes you play will be slightly lower in volume and also have a slightly more subdued tone quality.

The middle pedal is the Sostenuto. By using this pedal, you can sustain selected notes, while other notes remain unaffected. Only the notes that are held down when the pedal is operated will sustain. Other notes that you play while keeping the pedal down will sound as if no pedal was operated at all.

Effects, EQ and Amps

The effects in the Nord Piano are just as detailed as the piano sounds themselves. The tremolo adds that perfect vibe, the pan sweeps across the stereo panorama, and the auto-wah brings out the funk in you, like never before.

Whenever you want a modulation effect there's a beautiful phaser, a screaming flanger and a lush chorus, all modeled from highly desirable vintage effects.

The Nord Piano Speaker models faithfully reproduces the overdrive response of different amplifier/cabinet combinations. Select the desired speaker model - Small, JC or Twin - and use the Drive knob to add powerful tube amplifier distortion to your piano sound.

MIDI over USB, Extended USB functionality

The Nord Piano is the first Nord unit to have its USB functionality extended to also include MIDI messages. This feature allows you to use the Nord Piano as a controller keyboard with a computer, using the USB interface to transmit and receive MIDI data.

Lightweight

Even though the Nord Piano is built to easily cope with a hard touring life, it is the most lightweight and portable professional stage piano on the market at only 18 kg (39.6 lbs).

Church on Sunday mornings, clubs on Saturday nights.

The new Nord C2 Organ plays both places just right.
Clavia has developed digitally modeled vintage organ models for over a decade,

taking each new product version one step closer to perfection. With the introduction

of the Nord C2, we raise the performance bar even a bit further with the addition of

a baroque pipe organ section - this is the organ for others to compare against.

Nord C2 Combo Organ includes B3 tonewheel organ, a Vox
* Continental and a Farfisa*
and a beautiful baroque pipe organ. This makes the C2 an extremely versatile
instrument, providing not only rock organ players a new palette of sounds, but
also the perfect instrument to use in churches, concert and congregation halls
or any other venuewhere a high quality pipe organ instrument is paramount.

The Pipe Organ

From the golden age of organ building we have carefully chosen a baroque organ with a devastatingly beautiful sound and wide range of expression for the C2 pipe organ part. Using cutting edge sampling technique, no efforts have been spared in producing the richest

and most varied sound palette for the pipe organ player.

The C2 pipe organ is built upon two basic types of organ pipes; flue pipes and reed pipes.

The flue pipes have a softer timbre and the reed pipes a more nasal tone quality.

For each keyboard division the player can choose from different sets of pipes, stops,

to produce different timbres. The C2´s setup of stops make up a well-balanced blend of

tonal qualities capable of expressing the most dramatic music to conveying the subtlest

of organ pieces.

Stops and Couplers

In the pipe organ each manual has its own sound; the Great division being the part

of the organ with the majestic sound, whereas the Swell has a more mellow tonal quality.

The Couplers are used to activate combinations of different stops from both manuals,

so that pressing keys on one manual also connects stops from the other manual or

pedal, making them sound as well. The Pedal division has three bass stops,

which the user can choose to play from the lower manual, by attaching the

Nord Pedal Keys 27 (accessory),

or by attaching a 30-note classic digital organ pedal (optional).

The disposition has the fundamental tonal character of a baroque organ. The total

number of stops is 21; 9 stops for every manual and 3 pedal stops (of which one is

a combined Subbas 16 and Fagot 16). In addition to the three unison couplers usually

found in two manual organs, the C2 Combo Organ also features three octave couplers

and a special coupler that adds the Pedal to the leftmost note played on the Great manual.

Swell pedal and tremulant

One of the crucial ingredients for creating a vivid sound is the swell pedal. In the C2

Combo Organ this functions exactly as in the real-life models, giving the player intimate

control over volume and dynamics of the swell manual. Another indispensable aid

to make the pipe organ sound even a bit more vibrant is the tremulant. This is a function

that basically gives small and very rapid variations in volume, thereby causing the sound

to "tremulate". The C2 provides two speeds, each with three variable depths.

It´s not only about the music, it´s also about the player

So, not only does the C2 Combo Organ provide an extremely well balanced set of pipes,

stops and couplers, but has also kept the setup close to reality for the pipe organ player

to easily find his way around. Controls are exactly where you will expect to find them,

and in no time you will discover that this portable and compact instrument does the

whole work that the organ in the town church has done. But is so much easier to carry along.

The B3 model

We have made digital models of tonewheel organs for more than a decade and the

C2 Combo Organ is equipped with our third generation tonewheel model.

Not only have we analyzed the signals from each of the 91 spinning discs inside

several original instruments, we have also paid years of attention to each and everyone

of theintricate details that makes the characteristics of the actual sound in a vintage organ.

How do the tonewheels interact with each other, what does the crosstalk and

leakage in the original designs mean to the sound and what happens when you use

the instrument

to the limits of its ability? We know this, and we have made sure that the C2 tonewheel

model responds in a manner with what we think is hands down the best performance

organon the market.

The virtual circuitry in our B3 model reacts not only to the settings on the panel but also

during the real time performance. The C2 Combo Organ will faithfully reproduce

the important foldback and energy robbing characteristics; the latter will produce the

gentle compression effect that makes those lovely smears absolutely wonderful.

There are 4 tonewheel modes that allows you to switch from a clean,

factory spec’d instrument

to a worn and battered workhorse with some 40 years worth of touring.

It’s all about the performance

The individual tonewheel levels are controlled with our digital drawbars that are

just as fast and ergonomic to set up as their physical counterparts.

This modern design provides you with the ability to store your favorite settings,

to be instantly recalled and edited in real time during a performance. You also get

the unique opportunity to dial in a new setting with the digital drawbars

while playing, without the change taking effect until you say so.

Get your fingers on the waterfall type keyboard and you will not only hear, but also

feel the difference. An ultra fast trigger-to-sound response time in the C2 Combo

Organ offers a superior performance compared with any other hardware or software

products, just as the originals. We have modeled the crucial key click and

key release bursts from the mechanical busbar design with its close to 1200 switches.

The actual keys themselves have a firm mechanical action to provide you with the

rock solid feel of anoriginal vintage instrument.

You have direct access to every important function on the panel. We have a strong

belief in that a performance is not only about what you play, but also how you use

an instrument.

Vibrato, chorus and percussion

Other essential mechanical and electrical components

in the original instrument like the scanner that provides

the vibrato and chorus with their deep impact on the sound,

and the components and behavior of the percussion are

of course present in the C2 Combo Organ. The vibrato and

chorus with the rotating scanner and its analog circuitry

are carefully modeled to be as alive as the tonewheels.

Minimoog Voyager
product specifications

Features and Technical Specifications
The MINIMOOG VOYAGER Synthesizer is a monophonic (one note at a time) analog performance synthesizer. It incorporates virtually all of the sound resources and functions of the original Model D Minimoog, which was produced by Moog Music, Inc. from 1970 to 1982. It has many new additional features, including a three dimensional touch surface, MIDI IN and MIDI OUT implementation, extensive patching facilities, and a large number of new panel features.

The signal path starts with a bank of three wide-range, high-stability voltage controlled oscillators, one noise source, and one audio preamplifier for externally-applied audio signals. The sound modifiers are two Moog filters and one stereo VCA (Voltage Controlled Amplifier). Modulation sources are two ADSR (Attack Decay Sustain Release) envelope generators and one multiwaveform LFO (Low Frequency Oscillator).Control devices include a 44-key keyboard with velocity and afterpressure outputs, pitch bend and modulation wheels, a three dimensional touch surface, and many control/pedal input jacks.

The MINIMOOG VOYAGER has a hinged, multi-position panel and a solid hardwood cabinet. The power supply accepts any power voltage from 100 volts to 240 volts.

Oscillators Module
Three wide-range, high stability VCOs (Voltage Controlled Oscillators) with continuously-variable waveforms.

* FREQUENCY controls (2) vary the frequencies of Oscillators #2 and #3 over a +/-7 semitone range with respect to Oscillator #1.
* OCTAVE selectors (3) set the frequency ranges of the oscillators in six octave steps.
* WAVE controls (3) provide continuous control over the waveforms of the oscillators, from triangular, to sawtooth, to square, to narrow rectangular.
* 1-2 SYNC switch synchronizes the Oscillator #2 waveform to the frequency of Oscillator #1, for dramatic timbral effects.
* 3-1 FM switch provides linear frequency modulation of Oscillator #1 by Oscillator #3.
* 3 KB CONT switch disconnects Oscillator #3 from control by the keyboard, thereby enabling it to function as a drone.
* 3 FREQ switch lowers the frequency of Oscillator #3 into the sub-audio range, thereby enabling it to function as a low frequency audio or modulating oscillator.

Mixer Module
Five-input mixer for combining the audio sources prior to filtering.

* Input Level controls (5) adjust the relative levels of the oscillator, noise, and external audio input signals.
* Input switches (5) enable the player to quickly switch individual audio signals in and out.
* External Level LED enables the player to set the correct external audio signal level.

Filters Module
Dual mode filter module includes dual lowpass and highpass-lowpass filtering. Dual lowpass mode consists of two Moog lowpass-resonant filters in parallel, one per output channel. Highpass-lowpass mode consists of Moog lowpass filter in series with a highpass filter.

* CUTOFF control sweeps the frequencies of both filters throughout the audio range.
* SPACING control sets the spacing between the frequencies of the two filters, over a +/-3 octave range.
* RESONANCE control adjusts the resonance of both filters, from none (pure lowpass response) to filter oscillation.
* KB CONT AMOUNT control sets how much the filters open and close as the player presses different keys on the keyboard.
* Dual Lowpass/Highpass-Lowpass switch selects between dual lowpass operation or highpass-lowpass operation.

Envelopes Module
The Envelopes Module generates two wide-range ADSR (Attack Decay Sustain Release) envelopes. The Filter Envelope sweeps the filter and is available for modulation shaping. The Volume Envelope shapes the overall volume.

* ATTACK controls (2) determine the attack times of the envelopes.
* DECAY controls (2) determine the decay time constants of the envelopes.
* SUSTAIN controls (2) determine the sustain levels of the envelopes.
* RELEASE controls (2) determine the release time constants of the envelopes.
* AMOUNT TO FILTER control determines how much the filter envelope will open and close the filter, from full negative (inverted envelope) to full positive (non-inverted envelope).
* ENVELOPE GATE SWITCH selects whether the envelopes will be triggered by the keyboard, on , or by an externally-applied gate.

LFO Module
Low Frequency Oscillator generates triangular, square, Sample & Hold, and smoothed Sample & Hold waveforms for use as modulating signals.

* RATE control sets the LFO rate over the range 0.2 Hz (one cycle every five seconds) to 50 Hz (fifty times a second).
* SYNC selector selects LFO synchronization source to be from the keyboard gate, external envelope gate, external gate, or off (no synchronization).
* RATE LED provides visual indication of the LFO rate.

Modulation Busses Module
Selects the sources, destinations, and shaping signals for the MOD WHEEL bus and the EXT PEDAL/ON bus.

* SOURCE selectors (2) selects the modulation source from the LFO triangle or square waveforms, Oscillator# 3, sample and hold, the external modulation input (MOD2) or noise.
* DESTINATION selectors (2) selects the modulation destination from all the audio oscillators, just Oscillator #2, just Oscillator #3, the filter cutoff frequencies, the oscillator waveforms, or LFO Rate.
* SHAPING selectors (2) selects the key pressure signal, filter envelope, note-on velocity or on to shape the modulation signal on that bus.
* AMOUNT controls (2) sets the overall modulation amount for each bus.

Output Module
* MASTER VOLUME control sets the overall level of the instruments audio outputs.
* HEADPHONE VOLUME control sets the overall level of the headphone output.
* HEADPHONES jack: 1/4 tip-ring-sleeve phone jack for regular headphones.

Glide and Fine Tune Module

Can’t decide between the MuRF and Bass MuRF? Get both in one package!

The evolution of the MuRF continues with the MF-105M MIDI MuRF. The MF-105M combines Bob Moog’s classic MuRF and Bass MuRF to make one powerful Moogerfooger. Its warm, resonant, 100% analog Mid and Bass filter bands bring you everything from shimmering timbral morphing and rhythmic stuttering to deep bass grooves, and like all Moogerfoogers, it’s built like a tank to stand up to the toughest touring and studio use.

The MIDI MuRF Pattern Editor software is now available as a free download for MIDI MuRF owners.

Other purchasing options

The MF-104Z sounds fantastic and like all Moogerfoogers it has controls that allow you to vary the sound in a variety of ways that you can only do with a Moogerfooger. Controls include:

Drive and Output Levels allow you to set-up the Z to match the type of signal you want to delay from low level signals (vocals, guitar) to strong signals (studio console output, drum machine). The Z is designed to work with them all.

Delay time: from slightly less than 50 msec to slightly more than 1000 msec.

Mix: Pot Control from completely Dry to completely Wet or anything in between.

Feedback Control mixes a portion of the delayed signal with the signal from your instrument. Feedback control can generate a single echo, sustaining echoes, or echoes that build up in chaotic ways.

Switchable Internal Loop / External Loop selects the feedback path. In the Internal Loop position the feedback path goes directly from the output of the delay back to the input. In the External Loop position the feedback path goes through the Loop Out Jack and the Loop In Jack. This gives you an opportunity to insert signal processing in the feedback path, thereby enabling processing of the echoes as they are generated. Very cool with another Moogerfooger (unbelievable with the MuRF).

Loop Gain controls the signal level which is applied to the Loop In jack when the “External Loop” is on.

Here is a listing of the jack inputs and outputs on the back of this incredible effect:

Inputs:

Audio In

Feedback Amount, Delay Time, and Wet/Dry Mix
each of these can be controlled from a Moog Expression Pedal thru individual jacks on the back of the Z.

Outputs:

Mix Out and Delay Out
– the Output Level on the front panel adjusts the levels of the direct and delayed signals that appear at the Mix Out and Delay Out.

AND..
Loop In and Loop Out as previously mentioned.

What is an Analog Delay?

A delay circuit produces a replica of an audio signal a short time after the original signal is received. If you listen to the original and the delayed signal together, the delayed signal will sound like an echo of the original. If you then mix some of the delayed signal with the original signal and feed the mixture to the input of the delay circuit, the delayed output will be a string of echoes that die out gradually. You can determine how far apart the echoes are by adjusting the delay time of the delay circuit, and you can determine how fast the echoes die out by adjusting the amount of feedback from the delay circuit output to its input. In addition, you can determine how loud the echoes are by adjusting the mix between the original signal and the signal from the delay circuit output.

Today there are three types of delay devices: tape, analog and digital. The first delay devices used magnetic tape to create the delay. The sound was recorded on a moving tape and then played back after the tape had moved a few inches or so. Then, during the early 70s, large-scale semiconductor analog delay circuits became available. These were called bucket brigade delay chips, because they functioned by passing the audio waveform down a chain of several thousand circuit cells, analogous to water being passed by a bucket brigade to put out a fire. Each cell in the chip introduces a tiny time delay. The total time delay depends on the number of cells and on how fast the waveform is clocked, or moved from one cell to the next. Analog delays were less noisy, easier to use, and more reliable, and came to be more widely used than tape echo units.

More recently, digital delay units have come into use. In a digital delay unit, the sound signal is first converted to numbers. The numbers are stored in a digital memory for a certain time, and then retrieved and reconstructed into the delayed audio waveform. One significant difference is that the particular frequency and overload contours of well-designed analog delay devices generally provide smoother, more natural series of echoes than digital delay units. Another difference is that the echoes of a digital delay are static because they are the same sound repeated over and over, whereas a bucket brigade device itself imparts a warm, organically evolving timbre to the echoes.

The MF-104Z Analog Delay is unique because it combines authentic, finely-tuned vintage analog bucket-brigade delay circuitry with total voltage control of all three performance parameters.

Features

* DELAY TIME rotary control, which adjusts the delay time from slightly less than 50 milliseconds to 500 msec in the SHORT position; 100 msec to slightly more than 1000msec (1 second) in the LONG position.

* MIX rotary control, which adjusts the mix between the direct and the delayed signals.

* FEEDBACK rotary control, which adjusts the amount of delayed signal that is fed back to the input.

* INT. LOOP-EXT. LOOP switch routes the feedback either directly or through an external effects processor that you hook up. For example, inserting the MF-102 Ring Modulator in the feedback loop will create echoes that change timbre as they die out.

* DRIVE rotary control, which adjusts the gain of the audio input to the delay.

* OUTPUT LEVEL rotary control, which balances the delayed signal with the bypassed signal.

* LOOP GAIN rotary control, which sets the gain of the external feedback loop.

* LEVEL, a three-color LED that is used to set the DRIVE control.

* LOOP LEVEL, a LED that aids in setting the external loop level.

RATE LED: RED = Pattern Clock Rate determined by the Rate control/CV Input, GREEN = Pattern Clock Rate determined by Tap Tempo/Step control and ORANGE = The Current State has been last modified by MIDI and the front panel control knob doesn't indicate the state of the unit.

Back Panel

AUDIO IN: Phone jack accepts any instrument-level or line-level signal from 16 dBm to +4 dBm. Input impedance is 1 megohm.

LEFT/MONO OUT: " Phone Jack carries the summed signal (left+right, all freq. bands) when Right Output is not connected, and carries the Left output signal (Freq. bands: 200 Hz, 450 Hz, 1 KHz, 2.2 KHz) when the right output is connected. Nominal output is 16 dBm to +4 dBm depending on setting of Output Level control when effect is active. Output impedance is 5,000 Ohms.

RIGHT OUT: Phone Jack carries the Right Output signal (Freq. Bands 300 Hz, 675 Hz, 1.5 KHz, 3.4 KHz). Nominal output is 16 dBm to +4 dBM depending on setting of Output Level control when effect is active. Output impedance is 5,000 Ohms.

RATE, MIX, ENVELOPE, LFO/SWEEP are TRS jacks that accept Moogerfooger EP-2 (or equivalent) expression pedals, or control voltages from two or three-circuit jacks.

TAP/STEP IN: This tap tempo input accepts a normally open momentary footswitch for syncing the rate of ANIMATION to the tempo of the music.

MIDI

The MIDI In implementation on the MIDI MuRF makes possible a powerful new set of synchronization and control features that respond to the following MIDI Messages:

- System Real-time: MIDI Timing Clock, MIDI Start, Continue and Stop
- Channel Voice messages: Program Change, Control Change, Note On/Note Off
- System Exclusive messages: change MIDI channel, write user pattern sets, firmware upgrade.

Program Change:

A MIDI Program change received on the current MIDI Channel with a value 000-023 will override the position of the pattern and Freq Switch. A movement of the Pattern Knob or the Freq Switch sets the MIDI MuRF's current pattern to the one selected by the front panel.

Control Change Messages:

The MIDI MuRF can respond to MIDI CC Messages to alter the settings of the MuRF or the pattern clock rate. Changes made by MIDI CCs are over-ridden by moving the corresponding panel control or changing the state at the corresponding CV input.

Note On Messages:

In MUTE MODE, TRIGGERED MODE and SUSTAINED MODE, MIDI Note On messages can play the MIDI MuRF's filters. In STEP MODE the rate setting is ignored and Note On messages advance the pattern step.

SYSTEM REALTIME:

MIDI_RTC_CLOCK: MIDI CLOCK sets the rate of the pattern clock. When synced to MIDI CLOCK, the RATE LED flashes ORANGE at the Clock division.

MIDI_START: MIDI Clock Start Messages starts the Pattern Clock at the beginning of the Pattern, and synced to the MIDI Clock messages

MIDI_STOP: MIDI Clock Stop Message Stops the Pattern Clock.

MIDI_CONTINUE: MIDI Clock Continue Message restarts a stopped Pattern Clock at the next step in the Pattern.

CLOCK_DIVISIONS: Front panel RATE knob/CC9 or LFO Rate CV Input/CC3 are quantized to 16 positions and sweep through clock-divisions of MIDI Clock Messages (12 o'clock is quarter-note):

SYSTEM EXCLUSIVE:

MIDI Channel:

Defaults to Channel 1 on each power up, unless the stomp switch is closed. If the stomp switch is closed when power is applied then the Pattern Rotary switch sets the current MIDI Channel from 1-12. Changes are stored on power down.

The Mopho Keyboard is a compact and affordable—but powerful—monophonic analog synthesizer. The voice architecture is similar to a single voice of the Prophet '08, but with a couple of twists to distinguish it from its award-winning sibling. We have added two sub-octave generators—one per oscillator—for additional girth and crushing basses. It also has an audio input that lets you process external audio and mix Mopho's own audio output back in pre-filter for feedback effects that can range from subtle distortion to extreme skronk. It features the same semi-weighted keyboard action as the Prophet.

The Mopho Keyboard’s voice architecture features two oscillators, two sub-octave generators, selectable 2- or 4-pole low-pass filter, feedback, and a ton of modulation options, including three envelope generators, four LFOs, and a 16 x 4 step sequencer. It has a full-sized, semi-weighted, 32-note keyboard with velocity and aftertouch and full-sized pitch and modulation wheels. The Poly Chain feature enables expanded polyphony using other DSI synths. For example, combining a Mopho Keyboard with a Tetra results in a very portable five-voice poly synth. Other features include USB and the ability to process external audio through Mopho’s filter and VCA.

The Mopho Keyboard is fully programmable and all the parameters are logically arranged for easy access on the front panel. A free editor is also available for Mac OS and Windows to facilitate programming.
